Dornoch Tours

A curated morning-to-night itinerary showing visitors and locals how to experience the very best of Sutherland in a single day.

  • 9:30 AM — Dunrobin Castle: Located 15 minutes north of Dornoch on the A9. Arrive early to explore the state rooms and Versailles-inspired gardens (open seasonal April–October).
  • 10:30 AM — Falconry Flight: Watch eagles, owls, and falcons fly over the sea breeze (included with castle ticket).
  • 12:30 PM — Lunch on Dornoch Square: Return to Dornoch for Cullen skink or local deli toasties on the square.
  • 2:00 PM — Cathedral, Old Jail & Witch's Stone: Take our 1-hour daytime historic walk. See dornoch-cathedral (founded 1224) and the Witch's Stone, commemorating Janet Horne.
  • 4:00 PM — Beach or Bakery: Walk the pale sands of Dornoch beach or stop for a scone.
  • 7:00 PM — Evening Ghost Tour: Grab an early dinner, then meet at Dornoch Cathedral Station 10 minutes before departure.
