This page explains, in plain English, what Dornoch Tours collects when you use the app or ask to walk the tour with a guide, where it goes, and how long we keep it.
Who's Responsible
The data controller is Alliance Technologies LLC, which runs Dornoch Tours. If you have any questions about your data, or you'd like us to delete something we hold, email info@dornochtours.co.uk.
Information We Collect
Booking requests
If you ask to walk the tour with a guide, we collect the details you type into the booking form: your name, your email address, an optional phone number, and any free-text notes you add. These are sent to Dornoch Tours at dornochtours.co.uk so a guide can get in touch and confirm your walk.
Location
The app uses your location to place you on the route and to start each story as you arrive at spots like Dornoch Cathedral, the Old Jail or Dornoch Beach. That
happens entirely on your device: the GPS fix that triggers each story stays on your phone and is never sent to us or to anyone else.
The map itself is drawn by Google Maps. To fetch map imagery your phone makes requests to Google, and those requests carry your IP address, which can indicate
the general area you are in. Google may use that request data to maintain and improve its mapping services. We never receive it, and we never see where you
walked.

Nothing else
We do not collect analytics or usage statistics. We do not use advertising identifiers. The app contains no third-party tracking software of any kind.
How We Use It
Booking details are used solely to arrange your walk. They are shared with the guide you asked for, and with nobody else. We do not sell them, we do not pass them to marketing partners, and we do not use them to profile you.
How Long We Keep It
We keep booking details only as long as needed to arrange and follow up on your walk — typically no more than 12 months after the date of the tour, so we can answer any questions that come up afterwards. After that, they're deleted.
You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time by emailing info@dornochtours.co.uk. Under UK GDPR you also have the right to ask what we hold, correct anything that's wrong, or object to how we're using it — the same address will reach us.
